‘Wake Up Superman’, the brand new single from James, had its world premiere yesterday morning on BBC Radio 2.
Opening with a burst of funky guitar before Chloe’s stunning harmonies glide in, it’s an electrifying track that captures exactly what this nine-piece band does best. An infectious bass-line drives the rhythm, while urgent, fast-paced vocals ride over a pounding beat, futuristic synths, and soaring trumpet lines – all perfectly balanced, never competing, just working together in flawless harmony.

The single is one of two brand-new tracks featured on the band’s forthcoming compilation, Nothing But Love – The Definitive Best Of. Set for release on 21st November via UMR, the collection offers a comprehensive, career-spanning journey through James’ remarkable catalogue – from their earliest singles to fan favourites and carefully chosen deep cuts personally curated by the band.
Available to pre order from the band’s official store, it’s available on the following formats –
3 CD deluxe version: Includes an exclusive booklet featuring track-by-track commentary from the band themselves. It also features the original ‘Sit Down’ (Rough Trade Version), available on DSPs for the first time and for purchase for the first time in 35 years.
5 LP vinyl set: Includes tracks from Yummy and is presented in a deluxe rigid slipcase with an accompanying booklet.
2 LP colour vinyl set: A selection of highlights.

The band have also announced their biggest UK arena tour to date, set to take place in April 2026. Kicking off at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on Friday 3rd April, the tour will see them perform at ten arenas across the UK, culminating in a monumental homecoming show at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena on Saturday 18th April. Tickets go on sale at 9:30am on Friday 10 October.
