Salt Lake City

For the Salt Lake City stop of the tour, the band made their debut at The Commonwealth Room – an intimate venue celebrated for its exceptional acoustics and welcoming atmosphere. With a capacity of just 650, it marked the most personal and up-close performance of the entire tour.

During the VIP soundcheck, the band performed ‘One of the Three’, ‘All Good Boys‘ and ‘Stay‘. The latter was added at Saul’s request, taking the place of the originally planned ‘The Lake‘ – a track that’s surfaced a couple of times in soundcheck’s but has yet to make it into the main set. Meanwhile, ‘All Good Boys‘ made its second soundcheck appearance, and with seven shows remaining, there’s still hope it could find its way into the main set.

Opening with ‘Dream Thrum’, the first set featured five tracks from Laid. ‘Tomorrow’ made a welcome return after being left out in Boulder, while ‘Heads’ appeared slightly earlier than usual. A standout moment in the setlist was ‘Stay’, whose inclusion meant that three Yummy tracks were played in total – with ‘Shadow of a Giant’ and ‘Way Over Your Head’ both appearing in the second set.

‘Skindiving’ returned to its rightful place as the opening track for the second set, setting the tone with its moody atmosphere, before being followed by the equally evocative ‘PS’. After an energetic performance of ‘Sometimes’, the main set closed with a rousing rendition of ‘Laid’.

The encore featured two fan favourites – ‘Sound’ and the high-energy classic ‘Come Home‘. A handful of people joined the band onstage to dance during the former, bringing a final burst of movement and visual flair to the show’s closing moments.
